Emerging as one of the first responders to catastrophic Bhuj earthquake, Navneet family’s prompt and strategic response involved supply of critical supplies such as drinking water, medication, and clothing. Organised management is very crucial during any catastrophe. This was demonstrated by Navneet family with great efficiency, impactful disaster response efforts, and effectiveness. Every effort was made to maximise contributions and co-ordinate the response, which led to better outcomes for those affected by the catastrophe. From guiding and coordinating with Government agencies & NGOs, managing an even and efficient distribution of specialised kits comprising essential resources from various donors and companies, to those in need, we ensured smooth functioning at every step .
Post -earthquake the support continued with free meal services through Navneet Bhojanalay and facilitation of timely medical treatment.
Navneet sustained their post-earthquake support for years. We adopted two villages Nagrecha & Kotdi, leading a comprehensive rebuilding effort including psychological and medical rehabilitation. The strategically conceptualised Owner Driven Reconstruction programme was particularly impactful, providing need-based construction material to the earth quake victims to rebuild their homes. By facilitating the construction of over 200 houses, Navneet demonstrated not only its crisis management skills but also its commitment to fostering community participation in the recovery process. This initiative reflects Navneet’s enduring dedication to the long-term recovery and well-being of the affected communities, empowering individuals to take an active role in rebuilding their lives.
