Income Generation Programmes
Income Generation Programmes
Navneet Foundation’s community based income generation programmes are designed to uplift communities, foster sustainable livelihoods by equipping individuals with essential resources and opportunities. This is executed through multiple farmer support approaches, contributing to the development of these villages.
To help them generate additional income, farmers in the tribal region of Maharashtra and Gujarat are supported through the distribution of vegetable seed packets and fruit plants. This allows them to cultivate vegetables for additional 2-3 months, as well as sell a portion of their produce in addition to their regular yields.
The correlation of water and socio- economic development is incontestable. Errant waterfall and poor management of water resources adversely affects agriculture sustainability and livelihoods of farmers. Our initiatives aim to address short and long term measures to mitigate the cause and effect of water-shortage. The Foundation supports farmers with awareness and capacity building training sessions enabling them to create linkages with farmer friendly government schemes to avail of benefits line marked for them.
The training specifically focuses on implementing watershed management techniques, such as drip irrigation and mulching. This supports, as well as maximises the productivity of their land during the non-farming season. By focusing on practical and market-driven skills, we envisage long-term financial stability and empowerment for farmers.
